UFC President Dana White spoke to Inside MMA about the recent Strikeforce purchase of Zuffa, which inevitably led to the question of whether or not Russian fighter Fedor Emelianenko would ever fight in the UFC.

“Vadim (Finklestein) has to be kicking himself in the ass…They should have been in the UFC. They should have come into the UFC when there was an opportunity for them to do it, they should have got in. Even for his (Fedor’s) legacy. You know if your going to get beat, whether it’s getting triangle choked or getting your faced smashed, at least get it done by the best guys in the world…They probably don’t care as much about legacy as I do, but I think it’s important. And for the last however many years Fedor hasn’t fought anybody. (On whether he can help to fix Fedor’s legacy by booking fights in the UFC) I don’t think it’s Fedor. I’ve dealt with his management and it’s 100% those guys. The problem is you’ll never have a situation where Fedor is on his own making his own decisions.”
