Over the years, we have seen a slew of fighters make their way into the U.S. mainstream consciousness.
Once rivals, both the UFC and Pride went toe-to-toe indirectly, putting on some amazing fighters over the years, leaving many to speculate just who the consensus No. 1 fighter in the world really was.
However, the discussions were quickly put to bed when those same touted fighters, mostly Japanese, made their way to the UFC, finding little success against the upper echelon of their respective divisions, thus not being able to live up to the hype that once surrounded their illustrious careers.
