On Saturday night, a former legendary champion returning to his winning ways.
Jose Aldo, who lost in the first time in ten years, and the first time ever in the UFC, in his last fight against Conor McGregor, reclaimed a title belt at UFC 200 by defeating former UFC Lightweight Champion Frankie Edgar via impressive five-round decision.
With the win, Aldo sets up a potential rematch with McGregor, as the interim title guarantees him the next 145-pound title shot at the Irish mega-star if and when he returns to the featherweight division. After the fight, Aldo let it be known that’s where his mind was at, as he and McGregor shared a moment that UFC is already hyping, as you can see below.
In his next Octagon appearance, which will also be his first fight back after his first and only loss inside the UFC, McGregor fights Nate Diaz in an immediate 170-pound rematch at the UFC 202 pay-per-view on August 20th.
