Anderson Silva Suffers *Another* Injury and Is Unsure When He’ll Return

(Unfortunately, rehab for”The Spider” consisted mainly of wearing a Power Balance bracelet and eating Whoppers.)

It looks like Anderson Silva is not nearly as bionic as we thought.

TATAME is reporting that the UFC middleweight champ has sustained *another* injury and his return to training and competition will likely be pushed back as a result, meaning the winner of the UFC on Fox 2 bout on January 28 between Chael Sonnen and Mark Munoz may have to wait a while before getting a title shot.

Silva revealed during an appearance on a Brazilian television show that in addition to his damaged shoulder, he is also nursing a back injury that occurred recently.

“I’m not sure when I’ll come back to fight because I’m still with a shoulder injury,” he explained. “Another injury arose recently on my lower back, so I’m getting treatment.”

So the question is, should the number one contender wait for the fight or should the UFC do what they are doing with the welterweight division and introduce an interim title?

Keep in mind, the last time a champ suffered a major shoulder injury, he was out nearly a year recovering from surgery.
