After a long absence away from the Octagon, Antonio Minotauro Nogueira will make his return to face Brendan Schaub at UFC 134 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
His matchup against Schaub will be his first bout in more than a year-and-a-half, but Nogueira’s brother, Rogerio Nogueira, believes the experienced veteran will get the win.
“Schaub is a tough guy, I’m sure of that. He’s a young guy who has really heavy hands, but my brother is more technical than him on striking and on the ground game,” Rogerio Nogueira told TATAME.com.
“Rodrigo will submit him,” he added.
The star-studded event, which is being hosted in Brazil for the time since 1998, will feature Nogueira in competing in the co-main event, as well as other prominent Brazilian fighters including Anderson Silva and Mauricio “Shogun” Rua.
“Lil Nog” said he is excited to see his older brother compete, but the fact he is competing on home soil in front of an all-Brazilian crowd, adds a different factor to the bout itself.
“He has fought in many events, had title fights in UFC and in Pride, and he’s used to be under a lot of pressure, but fighting at home will give him the chills,” he said.
UFC 134 is scheduled for August 27, live from the HSBC Arena from Rio de Janeiro.
