Former UFC lightweight Antonio “Mandingo” McKee (25-4-2) wasn’t aware that he’d be released by the UFC till his manager called to tell confirm the news he’d been reading on the internet. McKee doesn’t agree with the promotions decision to release him and still doesn’t agree with the results of his split decision loss to Jacob Volkmann last Saturday at UFC 125.

McKee wanted to show his fans that he could do more than “lay-and-pray” so he attempted to show his stand up against Volkmann in their fight. In the end it proved to be the wrong decision but he’s not walking away bitter, “Mandingo” is happy that he’s been given the opportunity to fight for the UFC at his age.
