joshkoscheckUFC welterweight Josh Koscheck (15-4) will get his first chance at a UFC title this Saturday when he steps into the octagon against Georges St-Pierre. It isn’t the first meeting between the two fighters as St-Pierre earned a unanimous decision over Koscheck back in 2007 at UFC 74, but since then both fighters have evolved as mixed martial artists and UFC personalities.

Fans have got to watch both men square off as coaches during the latest season of “The Ultimate Fighter” with St-Pierre conducting himself as the “good guy” and Koscheck playing the part of the “heel” for fans.

For Koscheck, the whole “bad boy” or “heel” is just a way of getting fans into the arena to see him fight.

“I’ve done very well with my personality and being the so-called bad boy,” admits the American Kickboxing Academy product. “It’s part of the entertainment factor; you have to have some value. If you don’t have any value, you can’t sell tickets, and you can’t put butts in seats. If you can’t do that, you’re useless…If we had more guys in there with personality, I think you would see a lot more fans tuning in to watch them fight. People always seem to want to watch a Josh Koscheck fight. They want to see me either get my ass kicked or they want to see me win. Either way, I don’t really care what people’s opinions are of me. I’m not here to make friends; I’m here to make money and win championships, and that is the opportunity I have Saturday night.”

Koscheck will meet St-Pierre this Saturday in the main event of UFC 124 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada at the Bell Centre.
