Bellator 120 is the organization’s first foray into the world of pay-per-view, and the move has not been a smooth one.
An earlier attempt failed due to injury, and Bellator 120 almost suffered the same fate when Eddie Alvarez had to withdraw from the main event title fight against Michael Chandler last week. Will Brooks got the call to replace Alvarez in an interim title fight, but it will not be the main event.
Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney made the call to proceed with the PPV event, and Quinton “Rampage” Jackson vs. Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal was promoted to the event’s main event. The fight will be the finals of the latest light heavyweight tournament.
