Check out the blow-by-blow results for tonight’s Bellator 232 card, featuring the welterweight GP finals between Rory MacDonald and Douglas Lima in the main event.

Join us tonight on Bloody Elbow for results, discussion and play-by-play for Bellator 232: MacDonald vs. Lima 2. This five-fight main card will air live tonight on DAZN at 10 p.m. ET, with the prelims online at 6 p.m. ET.

The top of the card will see the conclusion of the promotion’s welterweight Grand Prix tournament. The current king, Rory MacDonald, will face the former champion, Douglas Lima, for the second time. The winner will walk away with the 170-pound belt as well as a cool million dollar payday.

In the co-main event, longtime MMA veteran Paul Daley meets short notice replacement Saad Awad. Daley is out to gain some traction, hoping to get back to back wins for the first time in a long time. As for Awad, he is hoping to snap a three fight losing skid. Also scheduled for the Bellator 232 main card will be the likes of Nick Newell, Baby Slice, and undefeated bantamweight prospect Patrick Mix.

Main card: (10 PM ET, DAZN)

Rory MacDonald vs. Douglas Lima: Welterweight Title

Rd.1-

Lima presses forward as they feel each other out. Lima lands one of his leg kicks and then sends one to the body. MacDonald fakes a takedown and lands an overhand left. Lima presses behind his jab. A one-two misses for Rory. The crowd is getting restless. MacDonald shoots in but Lima stays standing, but his back is to the fence. Lima sneaks in a knee to the body. Rory tries a trip but the fence aids Lima in staying vertical. MacDonald misses with a knee upstairs.

Rd.2-

Lima presses forward again to start the fight. MacDonald misses with a cross and then has an up kick blocked. A jab to the body hits for Lima. A lot of measuring is going on. A jab lands for Lima and then a hook misses. A one-two sneaks through for Rory. Lima returns with a left hook and then a body kick. MacDonald shoots in but Lima stuffs it and lands a left. Rory presses Lima up against the fence but Lima is able to break free. The jab scores for Lima as he marches forward. The crowd is growing restless again. A clean one-two cracks the jaw of MacDonald. Lima blocks a left and then lands a two piece. A jousting jab knocks back the head of MacDonald. Lima whiffs on a massive right haymaker.

Rd.3-

MacDonald pumps his jab to meet the pressure of Lima. Rorys shoots in but is again denied. Lima blocks a heavy right hand from Rory. MacDonald gets deep on a single leg but Lima stays on his feet. Double unders are obtained by MacDonald as Lima’s back is to the cage. They exchange knees to the leg. Lima circles out into open space and cracks with a jab. A double jab to the body hits for MacDonald and then he misses with a head kick. A left hook to the body finds a home on Lima’s midsection. Another jab snaps for Lima. Rory moves out of the way of a left-right combo. A right hand scores for Lima and Rory moves out of the way of the follow up left. Lima stuffs another takedown.

Rd.4-

MacDonald quickly closes the distance and shove this foe against the fence. Lima breaks free and lands a monstrous leg kick. Rory shoots in and barely gets out of the way of a left hook. Now, Lima lands the hook and then a right cross. MacDonald blasts another takedown attempt but that too is discarded. Lima kicks the leg again. A light jab to the body connects for Rory. Another botched takedown leads to Rory getting kicked in his leg. MacDonald shoves Lima back against the cage. He’s trying to muscle a takedown but Lima isn’t having it. MacDonald misses with a knee upstairs and then separates with a missing spinning backfist. Lima kicks the leg again. MacDonald responds with a head kick that’s blocked.

Rd.5-

A jab for Lima opens the round. Another jab lands for Lima and Rory returns a right. Another jab hits for Lima. MacDonald blasts a takedown but Lima uses the momentum to take top position. Blood is now dripping from the nose of Lima. MacDonald is breaking down the posture of his opponent and then rolls for an armbar. Lima lands a couple of ground strikes and Rory rolls for a kneebar. More ground strikes connect for Lima, prompting MacDonald to try and regain guard. Lima stands up and eats an up kick before re-entering the guard. Rory rolls for another armbar but Lima shucks it off. MacDonald scrambles into top position and Lima locks up his full guard. The crowd boo’s. xMacDonald tries to land strikes but Lima keeps his posture broken down.

Paul Daley vs. Saad Awad: Welterweight

Rd.1-

Awad opens with a low calf kick. He scores again with the same technique. A nice right hand hits for Awad. Daley stuffs the first takedown attempt and scores with a jab back on the feet. Awad shoots in again but Daley stuffs that as well. A cross hook from Daley lands. They clinch up briefly but quickly separate. A hard leg kick crashes on the thigh of Awad. A one-two finds a home for Awad. Daley responds with an uppercut and Awad sticks in a cross. A head kick glances for Daley and then a leg kick lands clean. A stiff jab makes Awad backpedal. A jumping switch kick connects but Awad catches the leg and clinches up. Awad whiffs on a spinning backfist and Daley lands an up elbow. Awad slips to his back and Daley engages him on the ground. A couple ground strikes land for Daley and Awad scores with an elbow and up kick from his back.

Rd.2-

A hard right hand from Daley opens the round. He then lands an uppercut to left hook that moves Awad. Daley is getting aggressive. He lands the same combo again but slips to the floor. Awad grabs ahold and takes the back as Daley rises to his feet. Daley escapes and lands a left hook and two hooks to the body. He then floors Awad with a heavy left hand and immediately drops some savage ground strikes. The referee steps in and calls it off.

Patrick Mix vs. Isaiah Chapman: Bantamweight

Rd.1-

Mix opens with a head kick that’s blocked and eats a jab. He then hits a takedown and quickly moves to the back. Mix locks up the body triangle and lands a few crafty elbows. Chapman is protecting his neck rather well but leaves himself open for strikes. Chapman briefly breaks the body triangle but Mix regains it. Mix transitions to an arm-in guillotine but nothing is there. He returns to the back and Chapman stands to his feet. Mix grabs ahold of the leg, securing the Suloev stretch. He starts cranking on it and Chapman taps!

Nick Newell vs. Manny Muro: 160 pounds

Rd.1-

Muro presses forward and Newell lands his right. Muro swings back with a set of haymakers. Muro closes the distance and spins to the back. Newell turns around and grabs ahold of the neck. Muro drops to his butt trying to escape. Newell releases the grip and starts to punch. Several short strikes score for Newell before he takes the back. Muro turns to his back but eats a couple elbows. He gives up his back again, but Newell loses top position.

Rd.2-

They clinch up to begin the second stanza. Newell hits a toss and then takes the back with one hook in. Muro stands to his feet with his Nick still attached. Newell hops off and works for a single leg. Muro sprawls and grabs the ankle of Newell to avoid being taken down. Muro drops a pair of elbows and Newell stands back up. Nick slips and Manny was quick to take his back on Newell’s way to his feet. Muro throws a two piece and Newell shot back in. Muro stuffs the shot and lands a few short punches before the bell.

Rd.3-

Inside leg kick scores for Muro. They clinch back up against the cage. Muro lands a few knees to the body and then scores the takedown. He moves to the back but Newell stands up. Muro sticks with his knee attack to the body, and then secures another takedown. Newell stands to his feet, but Muro is behind him. Manny drags the fight down to the mat. Newell rises but is taken right back down. Muro sinks the hooks and lands a couple of softening punches. Newell stands to his feet, but falls flat with Muro still attached. Muro lands a few more blows as time expires.

Kevin Ferguson Jr. vs. Craig Campbell: 160 pounds

Rd.1-

Baby Slice leads with a jab and connects with a cross-hook. He then goes right-left and finishes with as leg kick. He goes back to the leg kick but Campbell shoots in for the takedown. With his back to the cage, Baby Slice starts dropping elbows, the first to the back of the head but the follow ups are clean. Campbell drops to the floor and Baby Slice switches to hammerfists.. and that’s a wrap!
