Juan Archuleta vs. Patrick Mix

Round 1 – They trade leg kicks. Mix looks for a takedown and it takes a while, but he gets Archuleta to the mat against the fence. Archuleta pops up to his feet and stacks the next takedown attempt. Jab from Archuleta, and a right. Mix jumps onto Archuleta and drags him down. Very nice. He’s on the back looking for a choke, but Archuleta defends well. Mix keeps switching his body triangle, then rolls to the top and mounts. So pretty. Can’t get close to a finish though. 10-9 Mix.

Round 2 – Archuleta with a good body shot off the top. Mix wades in for a takedown, and they end up in a weird 50/50. Mix is looking for triangles but he’s on the bottom. This is weird. Archuleta is just holding on to his legs and kinda wondering what the hell is going on. He starts dropping elbows to Mix’s calf (?) and he ends up getting flipped over. Mix has the body triangle again and he’s hunting a choke. Archuleta pops out, but gets stuck again. He tries again and it works, he’s up with body shots and his own takedown attempt. Big GnP! 10-9 Mix again, but big recovery by Archuleta in the last minute.

Round 3 – Body shot from Archuleta. Big body shots from both men in the clinch. Sweet body jab from Archuleta. Another. More body work, with kicks and punches. Mix looks uncomfortable. Jab and a right hook from Archuleta. Mix fires back with a leg kick. They both miss with big lefts. Mix is controlling the cage, but Archuleta is the one landing. Again. Nice. 10-9 Archuleta.

Round 4 – Jab to the body from Archuleta. He clips Mix on the inside. But gets clipped back. Archuleta goes head/body. Again. Mix with a body kick. Inside leg kick from Mix. They go to the ground, but Archuleta pops up and throws a kick. It’s actually legal because it was to the body, but the ref jumped in. I don’t blame him, it looked bad at first glance. They reset on the feet. Nice 1-2 from Mix. Archuleta got tagged, and looked at the ref for help, but it was a legal shot. They trade in the center. Archuleta tells the ref his eye is “f—ked”. Wow. 10-9 Archuleta still though. Let’s go.

Round 5 – Archuleta with some early body work. Mix cracks him back. Archuleta digs the body again and lands a sweet shot to the chin. Mix is getting touched up now. He’s pressuring, and throwing jump knees, but he’s the one eating shots. This body work is beauty, especially in round 5. Nice throwback from Mix though, he connects with the chin. Clinch work. Archuleta nails a trip but Mix grabs the cage to stay upright. Ref misses it. Yikes. Archuleta lands a nice elbow on the break. Nice knee from Mix. Wow. I’d go 10-9 and 48-47 Archuleta, but I won’t be angry with any scores. Great fight.

Juan Archuleta defeated Patrick Mix via unanimous decision (49-46, 48-47, 48-47)

Jon Fitch vs. Neiman Gracie

Round 1 – They stay at range for a while, but nothing happens. Josh Thomson and John McCarthy make jokes for a while until Fitch gets his grind on. Gracie looks for a heel hook of of his back, once Fitch takes him down. Nada though. He did reverse position though, and he’s working from the top. Gracie looks for an armbar and Fitch is in trouble. He recovers and looks for the top, but he’s getting outhustled. 10-9 Gracie.

Round 2 – Nice right from Gracie. Fitch drops for a guillotine but its a Gracie. Come on man. He stacks Fitch, but he gets up. They stall out against the cage. Halfway through the round already. They finally separate, and both land nice lefts. More grappling from Gracie, and a beautiful takedown. Gracie setting up an inverted triangle, but it’s Jon Fitch. Come on. They’re 50/50. Fitch seems fine, and then he’s not! I can’t even tell if it was a knee bar or heel hook, but Fitch tapped! WHOA! All that “come on man” seems pretty dumb now!

Neiman Gracie defeated Jon Fitch via submission (heel hook), 4:47 of round 2

Liz Carmouche vs. DeAnna Bennett

Round 1 – Carmouche catches a leg kick and takes Bennett down Beautiful pickup but Carmouche is still all over her. She earns a break and lands a nice left. Nice left too. Carmouche lands a nice combo. They clinch, but Carmouche can’t get a takedown. Bennett ends up with a takedown but it’s pretty 50/50. Carmouche gets the best of it. 10-9 Carmouche.

Round 2 – After a whole not of nothing, Bennett finally shot in and actually got a takedown. Liz is trying to throw heel kicks from the bottom but Bennett is controlling her well. Carmouche attacked a leg and actually has a heel hook. Bennett defends, postures up, and lands some nice strikes. Back to full guard. Bennett is active. 10-9 Bennett.

Round 3 – Carmouche wades in with punches and takedown attempts right away. Bennett fights them off but she’s on the defensive. Liz oddly attacks a kimura, then actually defends Bennett’s takedown attempts. They change positions a few times, but Carmouche ends up on Bennett’s back. Choke! Done! That was beautiful. Outta nowhere, so pretty.

Liz Carmouche defeated DeAnna Bennett via submission (rear naked choke), 3:17 of round 3

Derek Campos vs. Keoni Diggs

Round 1 – Campos tries to blast him with a big right but he avoids it. Diggs works kicks to the leg. Left hook from Diggs. Campos presses him toward the outside. They clinch and Campos puts him on the fence. Diggs spins and takes him down. Diggs is firing body shots and lefts from full guard. Campos tries to scramble and gets back to his knees until Diggs yanks him back down and gets both hooks in on back mount. He’s got an arm under the chin for a second but lets it go. Campos tries to escape but Diggs gets the arm around his neck against the fence. He lets it go and Campos scrambles to get on top with short time. 10-9 Diggs.

Round 2 – Campos lands a nice leg kick. Few leg kicks. Nice body shot, but pretty quiet so far otherwise. They trade kicks. Clinch battle. Nice uppercut and left on the break from Campos. They trade low kicks. Left over the top from Campos. Leg kicAftrek from Diggs. Again. 10-9 Diggs.

Round 3 – Nice knee from Diggs, right up the middle. Campos looks for a takedown but can’t get it. Till he hits a nice trip and dumps Campos on his back. After 90 seconds or so, Campos gets back up and defends a few takedowns. A lot of cage work. Diggs takes the back again and drags Campos down. Choke! Taps! With like a second to go. That was awesome.

Keoni Diggs defeated Derek Campos via tech submission (rear naked choke), 4:59 of
