Most pundits are in agreement that on May 26, 2012 that fans will see UFC heavyweight champ Junior dos Santos defend his title against former champ Frank Mir in the main event of UFC 146.

Many believe that Dos Santos’ striking will be the key factor too him defeating Mir, and that the only hope Mir has of winning is to take the fight to the mat to submit the champ.

Despite Mir defeating JDS’s mentor Antônio Rodrigo Nogueira last December, another heavyweight on the card, Antonio ‘Bigfoot’ Silva, wants fans and critics to realize that a fight on the mat will not be as one sided as some think.

Speaking to Tatame.com, ‘Bigfoot’ had this to say.

“I’d say Cigano’s a brown or black belt at Jiu-Jitsu, absolutely. He’s very good, fast, versatile and doesn’t get stuck on the positions, he can move fast and stand-up quickly. He’s on a good moment of his career. Every time he’s in Rio he trains much Jiu-Jitsu. Because he knocks many guys out people start thinking he’s just good at that”.

UFC 146 goes down in just twelve days at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
