Light heavyweight Brandon “The Truth” Vera lost a unanimous decision on Jan. 1st to Thiago Silva at UFC 125, it was a third straight loss on his UFC record and the promotion gave him his walking papers. The Brazilian has since received a temporary suspension from the Nevada State Athletic Commission and after a urine test that resulted in a claim that the sample was “inconsistent with human urine.” The result was overturned to a “No Contest” and Vera has been brought back to the UFC.

Speaking to MMAFighting.com, Vera was thankful for getting a second chance and looks to make the most out of it.

“I was on my deathbed … they pulled the plug, I died. I’ve been resuscitated, I’m back baby. It’s a good feeling, a really, really good feeling … (on being brought back) It’s changed my whole outlook on life.”
