Brian BowlesFormer WEC bantamweight champion Brian Bowles (8-1) and Damacio Page (12-5) have agreed to a rematch at the upcoming UFC on Versus 3 event.

MMAWeekly.com confirmed the news Monday afternoon noting that both fighters have verbally agreed to the bout and are waiting to sign the paperwork to make their rematch official.

Bowles and Page met back in August of 2008 at WEC 53, with Bowles submitting Page in the first round of their televised bout.

Bowles had been expected to face Wagnney Fabiano at November’s WEC 52 event, but an injury forced him off the card. He looks to bounce back from his first professional loss after losing to the WEC bantamweight title to UFC champ Dominick Cruz in March at WEC 47. The fight was stopped after the second round on the recommendation of the cageside doctor. Bowles is 5-1 in the WEC and will make his UFC debut at the March event.

Page also enters the contest with a loss in his last fight having been submitted by Demetrious Johnson at WEC 52. That puts him at a 3-2 recod with the WEC, as he looks to bounce back with his UFC debut. The loss to Johnson ended a two fight win streak for Page who earned victories over Will Campuzano and Marcos Galvão.

UFC on Versus 3 is expected to take place on March 3rd in Louisville, Kentucky.
