UFC star Brock Lesnar finds himself in hot water after pleading guilty to a hunting infraction in southern Alberta.

According to TheGlobeandMail.com, “A lawyer for the mixed martial arts star appeared in a Medicine Hat court and pleaded guilty on his client’s behalf to improper tagging of an animal during a hunting trip last year.”

He was fined $1,725 and a six-month suspension was levied upon him.

Lesnar has his fight against Alistair Overeem in UFC 141 right around the corner. With the medical ailments he’s had to battle through and such a high-profile fight coming up, Lesnar can ill afford to have his mind elsewhere.

That being said, hunting infractions have to be taken seriously. Such a well-known fighter not following proper protocol reflects negatively upon everyone.

A guide was charged as well and two other charges against Lesnar were said to have been dropped.

This is a slap on the wrist and from what it sounds like, there certainly wasn’t any ill intent from the hunter.

That being said, nobody is above the regulations in place and this sends the message that careful attention to the rules must be exercised by anyone who chooses to take park in hunting.

With this behind him and his lesson learned, Lesnar now has to refocus himself as Overeem looks to inflict justice of a different kind.
