The first bout for the Ultimate Fighting Championships visit to Calgary, Alberta, Canada looks set as TUF 14 alum Bryan ‘Kid Lightning’ Caraway (16-5) moves down to bantamweight after his UFC debut to face Canadian fighter Mitch ‘The Machine’ Gagnon (8-1) at the UFC 149 event.

Canadian sportscaster Joe Ferrero announced the bout earlier today after learning of the match from event sources.

UFC 149 is expected to take place on July 21, 2012 at the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary and marks the promotions first visit to the prairie province.

Caraway was a member of Team Mayhem last fall and debuted as a featherweight against fellow housemate Dustin Niece at the Finale. ‘Kid Lightning’ would win his debut, as well as his second straight via rear-naked choke submission.

Gagnon had been scheduled to debut with the UFC in January at the UFC on FOX 2 show versus Johnny Bedford but was forced off the card over visa issues. The Canadian is currently riding a six fight win streak, earning each fight via submission. In fact, Gagnon has finished all eight of his opponents via submission.
