Chan Sung JungWith just over two weeks to go till UFC Fight for the Troops 2 the promotion is left looking for a new opponent for Rani Yahya (15-6) as his original opponent Chan Sung Jung (aka “The Korean Zombie”) (10-3) has been forced to withdraw from the event due to an undisclosed injury.

MMAjunkie.com reported the news on Friday afternoon from an undisclosed source, noting that the promotion is looking for a replacement rather than scrapping the fight entirely.

Jung is best known for his famous bout with Leonard Garcia last year at WEC 48, losing a close split decision. The Korean fighter would then go on to suffer a devastating knockout loss to George Roop at WEC 51, after Roop dropped him with a head kick in the second round. This bout was to be Jung’s UFC debut but fans will have to wait a little longer for that to happen. It’s almost certain that once he does make his debut, he’ll need a win ore Jung will be served with his walking papers.

Yahya finds himself on the losing end of two straight and will need a victory against whoever he faces next. This will be his UFC debut, moving over from the WEC with a 4-3 record under the promotion and is 3-2 in his last five. He last appeared at the WEC 48 card last April, losing a unanimous decision to Takeya Mizugaki and was TKO’d by Joseph Benavidez at WEC 45 in December of 2009.

UFC Fight for the Troops 2, or UFC Fight Night 23, serves as a fundraiser for the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund, will take place on Jan. 22 at Fort Hood in Killeen, Texas.
