Former UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman recently revealed he was at ’10-20 percent’ when he lost to Luke Rockhold, and now he’s explaining why…
When Luke Rockhold had finished his brutal bludgeoning of Chris Weidman at UFC 194, it was almost an unbelievable moment. The champ who’d been so dominant in victories over Vitor Belfort and Anderson Silva was now on the wrong side of a beatdown identical to the destruction he was so used to doling out. Perhaps a tough weight cut, or maybe he was simply not good enough to beat ‘Rocky,’ either way, it was an ugly loss for ‘The All American.’
Then came Weidman’s recent interview, where he claimed to have been at ’10-20 percent’ for his fight with Rockhold. Without expanding on that statement, it was kinda hard to sympathise with the former champion. But now, courtesy of sportscaster Jamie Stuart, Weidman finally reveals what he meant by that notorious statement.

What do you think? Would this explain what seemed to be a very subpar performance from the normally dominant wrestler, or is it a case of sour grapes? Isn’t it odd to hear the man that once received endless criticism for ‘lucky’ wins against Anderson Silva now jumping on the ‘percentage bandwagon?’
Let’s hope 100% Weidman shows up at UFC 199, where he’ll get the chance to reclaim the title from Rockhold in a rematch.
