Colby Covington continues to tease that he’s done with the UFC.
Speaking to Submission Radio in a recent interview, Covington teased ditching the UFC for a career in professional wrestling with WWE:
“I’m not losing any sleep over it. I can tell you what, I’m on vacation right now with all my ladies in Miami, man, we having a good night, we having a good time,” Covington said.
“We’re partying. I’m still making money. That’s the thing about the UFC, they can’t slow me down. I’m a personality now. I do whatever the fuck I want. If I’m gonna go to the WWE, you know, I might be in the WWE soon. So I could give a fuck less if I ever fight in the UFC.”
Covington has grown frustrated with the UFC after being passed up for a welterweight title shot. Initially, Covington was certain to settle his longtime rivalry with Tyron Woodley for the 170-pound throne. However, issues from both sides prevented the fight from being made.
Now, UFC President Dana White has said Covington will have to re-earn his shot at the title. Covington has responded by taking harsh shots at the UFC boss, and the promotion itself. After all his threats to leave the promotion, and requests to be cut, it will be interesting to see how Covington’s situation plays out.
