UFC star Conor McGregor has posted a mock-up fight poster on social media depicting himself and retired boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. face-to-face.
There has been speculation swirling that the duo could potentially face off in a bout, and the Irishman has done little to quash any speculation with this latest Instagram bulletin:
According to the Sun’s James Beal and Matt Heath-Smith, the two combat sports stars have been in talks for a while about a possible bout.
Mayweather, speaking to FightHype.com (h/t the Irish Independent) declined the chance to deny the bout could happen too. “It’s possible,” he said. “It was a name that was shot at me. The rumours that you all have been hearing are the rumours that I started. It may not be a rumour. So keep your fingers crossed, it may be a boxer vs. an MMA fighter.”
