A light heavyweight bout looks to be in the works between former UFC champ ‘Suga’ Rashad Evans (17-3-1) and former Pride/Strikeforce title holder Dan Henderson (29-9).

The two are rumored to meet this June at UFC 161 when the Ultimate Fighting Championship returns to Canada, visiting the MTS Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba for the fist time.

News of the matchup was announced by Tatame.com this afternoon, while Canadian reporter Joe Ferraro identified the UFC’s newest trip north of the border.

Winnipeg is the latest Canadian city, with regular visits to Montreal and Toronto with other stops in Vancouver and Calgary.

UFC 161 is expected to take place on June 15, 2013 at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Other matchups rumored for the event include a welterweight bout between Jake Shields vs. Tyron Woodley and another light heavyweight bout between Mauricio ‘Shogun’ Rua vs. Antônio Rogério Nogueira.

Evans has lost his last two matches, a decision to Antônio Rogério Nogueira last month at UFC 156 as well as a decision to UFC champion Jon Jones at UFC 145 last April. His last win took place in January of last year at UFC on FOX 2 with a decision victory over Phil Davis.

Henderson saw a four fight win streak end after a split decision loss to Lyoto Machida a few weeks ago at UFC 157. ‘Hendo’ earned his last win in November 2011 in a Fight of the Year bout with ‘Shogun’ Rua at UFC 139. He was to have faced Jones at UFC 151 for the light heavyweigh title but was forced out due to a knee injury.
