Mixed martial arts fighter Dave Herman, who spent time with both UFC and Bellator, reportedly led police on a chase before being tased and arrested on Monday.
MMAJunkie reports a filing by the Dekalb County Sheriff Department states Herman was speeding without his lights on and didn’t immediately pull over. Once he did stop, he approached the officers and forced them to use a taser:
David exited his vehicle and approached Officers in an aggressive manner. David was given multiple warnings to get on the ground and failed to comply. David had to be tased in order to be taken into custody. An infant and adult female were also present in the vehicle.
The outlet also passed along the fighter’s mugshot:
Herman faces charges that include resisting law enforcement with a vehicle, battery against law enforcement and neglect of a dependant, all felonies, and a resisting law enforcement misdemeanor, according to the police report.
The 30-year-old American won his UFC debut in 2011 before losing four straight fights and getting released. He last fought in May with the Titan Fighting Championship, where he picked up a unanimous decision victory over Kalib Starnes.
Herman holds a 22-6 career MMA record. No word yet on how his arrest will impact his status with TFC.
