Diego Brandao vs. Jimy Hettes rebooked for UFC on FOX 15

Diego Brandao and Jimy Hettes will finally meet in April.

The two featherweights, originally paired at the UFC 183 card in Las Vegas, are now set to collide at UFC on FOX 15 in Newark, N.J., on April 18. The UFC announced the match-up Monday.

Brandao vs. Hettes was part of the preliminary card of the UFC pay-per-view show on Jan. 28, but Hettes fell ill while getting his hands wrapped and the bout was cancelled.

That marked the second time in less than a year that Brandao had a fight cancelled after the weigh-ins. In March of 2014, Brandao’s clash with Will Chope was pulled from UFC Fight Night 38 just hours before the event in Natal, Brazil.

Brandao (18-10), winner of the 14th season of The Ultimate Fighter, looks to get back on track following first-round losses to Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier. Prior to the losing skid, the Brazilian was riding a three-fight winning streak over Daniel Pineda, Pablo Garza and Joey Gambino.

Hettes (11-2) will compete for the first time since losing to Dennis Bermudez last March. The Pennsylvania native, who signed with the UFC in 2011 after racking up a perfect 8-0 record with eight submission victories, is 3-2 inside the Octagon with wins over Rob Whiteford, Nam Phan and Alex Caceres.

UFC on FOX 15 takes place at the Prudential Center in Newark and features Lyoto Machida vs. Luke Rockhold in the main event.
