Welterweight fighter Duane “Bang” Ludwig has always had the fastest knockout in the UFC unofficially, and after five years since it occurred at Ultimate Fight Night 3 against Jonathan Goulet, it will finally be official.
UFC president Dana White confirmed the change on his Twitter account.
DW Twitter: @DUANEBANGCOM @ufc and for x mas you have the fastest KO in UFC history and it will be changed ASAP.
Of the three fastest knockouts in the UFC, two of them came at seven seconds while Ludwig’s happened just four seconds into the first round. Both Chan-Sung Jung and Todd Duffee own seven-second knockouts.
Ludwig is also a former kickboxer and achieved a 43-7 record before the bout with Goulet. His MMA record currently sits at 21-11. His two-fight win streak includes victories over Amir Sadollah and Nick Osipczak.
His next bout will come against Josh Neer at UFC on FX 1.
