UFC on Fox 6 is now official. The promotion is returning to Chicago for a championship bout between flyweights Demetrious Johnson and John Dodson as the main event.
The event is slated for January 26 at the United Center, which also played host to UFC on Fox 2 last January.
Like the last event, which featured a stacked card consisting of Rashad Evans, Phil Davis, Chael Sonnen, Michael Bisping, Demian Maia and Chris Weidman; the Fox 6 card looks equally packed.
The long-awaited light heavyweight clash between Rampage Jackson and Glover Teixeira is the co-main event. Donald Cerrone taking on Anthony Pettis is also on the card.
“Chicago is a great fight town and we’re excited to come back to the United Center on Jan. 26,” said UFC President Dana White (H/T MMA Junkie). “This will be our first big event on FOX for 2013, and we’ve lined up an incredible card, including the flyweight title fight.”
Tickets for the event go on sale to the general public on November 30, with pre-sale tickets available from the 28th.
Those interested will have to put down between $40 and $250 for seats, plus fees, which can be bought from Ticketmaster locations as well as the United Center box office.
The UFC is still figuring out the fourth fight on the main card, which MMA Junkie is speculating could feature any number of Chicago area fighters already on the billing. These are Erik Koch, Clay Guida or Mike Russow.
The event will kick off at 8 p.m. ET (5 p.m. PT).
