The third fight between Frankie Edgar and BJ Penn will take place at The Ultimate Fighter Finale scheduled for Sunday, July 6 in Las Vegas.

The bout is expected to serve as the main event. It will air on Fox Sports 1, and include the finals of the Ultimate Fighter reality show tournament.

UFC Tonight reported the news on Wednesday.

Edgar holds two previous victories over Penn. The first came at UFC 112 in April 2010, when he wrested control of the UFC lightweight championship away from the popular lightweight champion. Edgar then defeated Penn in an immediate rematch at UFC 118 in August 2010.

The main difference between this bout and the previous two? This one will be contested at featherweight. Edgar has competed twice in the weight class, but this will be Penn’s featherweight debut. He has previously competed at lightweight, welterweight and middleweight and even fought Lyoto Machida at a catchweight; Machida was 220 pounds, while Penn stepped on the scale at 190.

Penn has been out of action since a December 2012 loss to Rory MacDonald. Edgar beat Charles Oliveira his last time out at UFC 162 last summer.

The Ultimate Fighter Finale will cap off the UFC’s 2014 International Fight Week. For the first time ever, the promotion will hold consecutive fight cards, in the same city and on the same weekend. UFC 175 is scheduled to take place the previous day.

Earlier in the week, the latest iteration of the UFC Fan Expo will hit the Mandalay Bay Convention Center, while both fight cards will be held at the Mandalay Bay Events Center.
