Hector Lombard feels the future’s forecast of “Thunder” and “Lightning” is all wrong.

Despite being currently booked to fight Japanese star Yushin “Thunder” Okami at UFC on Fuel TV 8, Hector “Lightning” Lombard recently expressed his desire to face off with another middleweight contender inside the Octagon.

That man?

Michael “The Count” Bisping (sorry, I don’t have a pun for that nickname worked up just yet).

In a recent interview with mmafighting.com, Lombard voiced his desire to face the British superstar in spite of the obvious obstacle preventing its creation.

I’m really trying to push this fight because I’m not sure it’s going to happen.

After a crushing knockout victory over Rousimar Palhares at UFC on FX 6, Lombard’s stock saw a significant rise, and many fans and critics alike are timidly re-boarding the hype train that is Mr. Lombard.

Is “Lightning” at the level of Bisping though? Lombard certainly thinks so.

He’s (Bisping‘s) the one who’s talking like, I need a ladder to fight him and stuff like that. Let’s see if I really need a ladder.

Fueling this burning desire to fight the British superstar, Lombard dropped some of the most hilariously absurd trash talk in recent memory (Chael Sonnen aside, of course), saying that Bisping has some seriously small (and feminine) paws.

Speaking of a time the two shook hands, Lombard says:

I squeezed it and I’m sure he was in pain. And after that, he started talking about how short I am. But one thing you can be 100 percent sure about it is that he’s got the smallest hands ever, like a little girl’s hands.

Mitts aside, Lombard is still a fight away from a contender’s bout against a proven UFC middleweight like Bisping.

Luckily for the Cuban standout, his bout at hand is the perfect proving ground to set the stage for such a matchup in the near future, and if he can out-muscle an outstanding grappler in Okami, he will have the high-profile fight he desires sooner than later.

With his raging fists and muscle-bound, torque-inducing hips and core, the weather calls for a knockout.

High of Lombard’s fist in the air.

Low of Okami‘s face on the mat.
