Montana De La Rosa made the most out of her last-second main card bid earlier tonight (Sat. June 5, 2021) at UFC Vegas 28 live on ESPN+ from inside UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, when she finished Ariane Lipski via second-round TKO (punches). The two women were scheduled to compete as the “Prelims” headliner before slotting in for a cancelled middleweight bout between Tom Breese and Antonio Arroyo.
Lipski started to land on the feet early which is where she is her most dangerous. Knowing this, De La Rosa quickly switched levels and started to score some takedowns. De La Rosa’s top game is strong and she limited Lipski to practically nothing. In Round 2, De La Rosa gained full mount and rained heavy elbows and punches for the eventual stoppage.

This performance gives De La Rosa her first win since capturing a decision over Mara Romero Borella back in Feb. 2020. The veteran fighter always seems to fizzle out once she gains some momentum so it will be interesting to see if De La Rosa can string some more wins together heading into 2022.
