Drew Dober provided fight fans their first finish earlier tonight (Sat., Jan. 18, 2020) at UFC 246 from inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, as he demolished rising lightweight prospect Nasrat Haqparast via first-round TKO (punches).
Both men came out swinging as they tried to impress with hard striking. Each connected, but it was Dober who landed the more meaningful shots. During an exchange inside, Dober caught Haqparast with a perfectly-timed left counter and dropped the German fighter to the canvas. Dober quickly pounced on top to land heavy ground-and-pound that bounced Haqparast’s head off the canvas until the referee stepped in for the stoppage.

With this performance, Dober locks down his second-straight knockout finish and now pushes his record to 7-2 since the beginning of 2016. That includes a 3-0 record in the month of January. Haqparast was a highly-touted prospect coming into this fight so expect Dober to use this knockout win as leverage to earn a shot at the top 15 his next time out.
