Boxing’s best heavyweight fighter, Tyson Fury (28-0-1, 20 KOs), took care of business rather quickly last night (Sat., June 15, 2019) live on ESPN+ from inside MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, when he obliterated previously undefeated German heavyweight champion Tom Schwarz (24-1, 16 KOs) via second-round TKO.

Fury came out early in typical fashion by moving around the ring and throwing out a crisp jab. He actually threw 45 in total during the first round. “Gypsy King” came back in the second frame and landed heavy bombs straight out of the gate. His confidence grew and he started to let his hands hang by his side and utilized incredible head movement to avoid a four-piece combination by Schwarz along the ropes.

Fury maintained his pursuit and knocked down Schwarz moments later. Schwarz returned to his feet but the Englishman wasn’t letting off the gas. Fury peppered Schwarz with crisp combinations, uppercuts inside, and hooks through the the German fighter’s defense until the referee finally stepped in for the TKO stoppage.

All in all, this was exactly what boxing fans expected. Fury came into this fight with Schwarz the best heavyweight in the world and he left even better. Quite impressive for a guy who was making his Las Vegas debut.

As if you didn’t know, this performance by Fury just made the Deontay Wilder rematch even sweeter.
