Joanderson Brito earned a gruesome TKO win earlier tonight (Sat., May 4, 2024) live on ESPN+ PPV from inside Farmasi Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, as the featherweight contender battered Jack Shore’s leg to open up a cut too nasty to let the fight continue.

Brito was in control from the opening bell with forward pressure, hard leg kicks, and heavy punches. Shore would try to grapple to gain an upper hand, but Brito’s strength was too difficult to deal with. The Brazilian was simply a runaway train.

The leg kicks continued to pile up late into the fight and Shore’s leg became compromised. Brito eventually opened up a small cut on Shore’s leg and UFC play-by-play announced Jon Anik called it out on the broadcast. Moments later, Brito landed another leg kick, but this time the cut grew larger and blood started pouring down Shore’s leg.

Brito noticed the cut and began to punch Shore’s leg along the cage. That caught the attention of the referee, who stepped in and called a timeout. Upon doctor review, Shore’s cut on his leg was too significant for him to continue. The fight was waived off and Brito walked away wit the TKO win.
