Brunno Ferreira returned to the middleweight win column earlier tonight (Sat., Jan. 13, 2024) at UFC Vegas 84 live on ESPN+ from inside UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, when “Hulk” produced a smashing knockout finish over Phil Hawes at the end of the first round.

Hawes is a dangerous middleweight to deal with, but he came into this fight having lost three out of his last four fights by way of knockout. His chin has been cracked quite a few times over the past two years and Ferreira has some of the biggest punching power in the division. The writing was more or less on the wall.

While Hawes lasted on the feet a little longer than expected it was “Hulk” who did the most damage throughout the first round. With about 10 seconds left, Ferreira was able to land a nasty knee inside followed by a left hand that knocked Hawes to the canvas. He followed up with a brutal collection of punches that finally put Hawes to sleep.

Check out the final moments below:

Ferreira, 31, is now 2-1 inside of the Octagon since his debut against Gregory Rodrigues nearly one year ago. His loss came at the hands of a Nursulton Ruziboev knockout this past July. It’s safe to say that this knockout win by Ferreira will keep him afloat at 185 pounds as he tries to climb his way to a top 15 matchup by the end of 2024.
