Light heavyweight veteran Maxim Grishin captured his first Octagon win earlier tonight (Sat., Oct. 17, 2020) at UFC Fight Island 6 live on ESPN+ from inside Flash Forum in Abu Dhabi, U.A.E., when the Russian ended Gadzhimurad Antigulov via second-round TKO (punches).
Both fighters took a patient approach to this “Prelims” battle but it was Grishin who did the most damage along the way. In Round 2, he landed a big right hook along the cage that seemed to stun Antigulov. Antigulov covered up and Grishin unloaded combinations in bunches. The shots were landing but didn’t seem to be doing serious damage, but the referee still felt Antigulov needed saving with just two seconds left in the fight.

With this performance, Grishin gets in the UFC win column after dropping a debut loss at the heavyweight level to Marcin Tybura back in July. Grishin has been around the block quite a bit throughout his career and has shown the ability to mix it up when it matters most. It will be interesting to see how far he can climb the 205-pound ladder moving forward.
