One of the more intriguing women’s bantamweight prospects in mixed martial arts may be on her way to the UFC.

UFC President Dana White confirmed during a Thursday media scrum ahead of Saturday’s UFC 171 event that he will be meeting with former boxing world champion Holly Holm and her management team in Dallas.

“I’m going to meet them this weekend and see what happens,” White said.

Sources close to Holm told Bleacher Report that she is interested in a potential fight with Cris “Cyborg” Justino under the UFC banner. She would also like to fight UFC champion Ronda Rousey, but it is unlikely Holm will be granted a title shot in her first UFC bout.

White has been barraged with questions about Holm for the better part of the last 12 months. He told media on Thursday that his planned weekend meeting with Holm will be the first time he has spoken with her or her management team.

Holm, 6-0 in her professional career, has finished five of her six wins by TKO or knockout. She’s on the radar of many mixed martial arts fans due to her background as one of the best female boxers and kickboxers in the world; Ring Magazine named her the female fighter of the year in 2005 and 2006. Her career boxing record is 33-2-3.

Holm began her mixed martial arts career in 2011, beating Christina Domke by TKO via leg kicks.

Holm last competed in December, beating Angela Hayes by unanimous decision. She is scheduled to face Juliana Werner on April 5 at a Legacy Fighting Championship event in Albuquerque, where Holm trains at Jackson/Winklejohn mixed martial arts.
