New matchups keep rolling in as a welterweight bout between Brazilian fighter Ildemar ‘Marajo’ Alcantara (18-5) and returning fighter ‘The Kansas City Bandit’ Jason High (16-3) was identified on late Wednesday night for the upcoming UFC on FUEL TV 10 event.

Brazilian news agency Tatame.com announced the matchup between the two 170-lbs fighters, but identified the event as the TUF Brazil 2 Finale on June 8th, which has since been identified as UFC on FUEL TV 10 by UFC Tonight officials (@UFCTonight).

Alcantara debuted with the UFC at light heavyweight but will drop two weight categories to meet High at 170-lbs.

UFC on FUEL TV 10 is expected to take place on June 8, 2013 at the Ginásio Paulo Sarasate arena in Fortaleza, Brazil. The event is expected to host the TUF Brazil 2 finals. Opposing coaches, heavyweights Antônio Rodrigo ‘Big Nog’ Nogueira and Fabricio Werdum are expected to headline the television event.

The bout between Alcantara and High is certain to appear on the events preliminary card.

Alcantara debuted with the UFC last January after stepping in for an injured Roger Hollett at the UFC on FX 7 event. Competing at light heavyweight versus opponent Wagner Prado, Alcantaro earned a second round submission at the Sao Paulo show. The victory was ‘Marajo’s’ eighth straight win having finished seven of those opponents by submission or by (T)KO.

High made one appearance in the Octagon back in March 2010 at UFN 21, losing by decision to Charlie Brenneman. After that ‘The Kansas City Bandit’ went on to compete with several other promotions before ending up with the Strikeforce promotion. High carries a seven fight win streak into his fight with Alcantara with three straight wins in the Strikeforce cage. His last fight took place in July of last year with a first round submission of Nate Moore.
