A middleweight bout featuring Jared ‘The Messenger’ Hamman (13-4) and uFC sophomore Michael Kuiper (11-1) appears to be in the works for UFC 150 after Hamman’s management, Alchemist MMA, posted a notice on Twitter (@NimaSafapour) on Monday.
– It is on, Folks! @jaredhammanMMA “The Messenger” is back and he will fight at UFC 150 in Denver against Michael Kuiper! @AlchemistMMA
UFC 150 is expected to take place on August 11, 2012 at Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado.
Hamman is 2-3 in the UFC and is 1-1 after dropping to middleweight last summer. Most recently ‘The Messenger’ was last in action this past December at UFC 140, suffering a first round knockout loss to Constantinos Philippou. Hamman had been scheduled to appear at UFC on FX 2 against Kyle Noke but withdrew due to an undisclosed injury. Hamman earned his last victory in August of last year, beating C.B. Dollaway by second round TKO at the UFC on Versus 5 event.
Kuiper saw his undefeated streak end with his Octagon debut this past February at UFC 143 in Vegas. Kuiper lost a unanimous decision to Rafael Natal, ending nine straight finishes for the Dutch fighter. In that streak, Kuiper had six victories by (T)KO and two by submission, all at local events throughout Europe from 2009 to 2011.
