Calgary update, fight fans — add a welterweight bout between @claudetheprince vs James Head for ?#UFC149? July 21 in Calgary.

UFC 149: Aldo vs. Koch is expected to take place on July 21, 2012 at the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta, Canada and features a featherweight title bout between defending champion Jose Aldo vs. top contender Erik Koch. Patrick vs. Head will take place on the prelim portion of the event since the main card has already been announced.

Toronto, Ontario born Patrick suffered his first Octagon loss last December fighting in his home town at UFC 140. ‘The Prince’ stepped in for fellow Canadian Rory MacDonald against Brian Ebersole, losing a close split decision to the ‘Bad Boy’. Patrick had been on a thirteen fight win streak which included three in the Octagon. His last victory was in April of last year at UFC 129 when he defeated Daniel Roberts by decision.

Head made his welterweight debut last month at UFC on FUEL TV 2 in Sweden, defeating local fighter Papy Abedi by first round submission. It was Head’s first win after only two appearances in the Octagon. He debuted at UFC 131 at middleweight, losing to Nick Ring by rear-naked choke submission. He had been scheduled to appear at UFC 138 against Mark Scanlon which ended with both fighters withdrawing due to injury.
