It was revealed today on the UFC’s “Inside the Octagon” show for UFC 206 that a new fight between top ten contenders has been added to UFC 207: Nunes vs. Rousey on December 30th. In the strawweight division, #5 contender Jessica Andrade will take on #10 contender Maryna Moroz. Both are on two fight win streaks, with Andrade coming off victories over Jessica Penne and Joanne Calderwood, while Moroz defeated the unranked Cristina Stanciu and Danielle Taylor. Andrade rebounded from a submission loss to Raquel Pennington in her final fight at bantamweight, while Moroz was coming off a defeat by decision in a fight with Valerie Letourneau that turned out to be a title eliminator.

Moroz’s lone other UFC fight is her own first round submission win over Calderwood. She’s looked somewhat diminished as of late, with the bout against Taylor being a legitimate contender for worst fight of the year due to her unwillingness to get into range against a much shorter fighter. That said, while Andrade has the momentum, Moroz, with her reach and jab-heavy, in and out, boxing-heavy attack, is a tricky stylistic matchup for her. With a win, Andrade would be in strong position for a title shot against Joanna Jędrzejczyk.
