Originally, a welterweight matchup at UFC 154 was to feature Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson facing off against Besam Yousef. However, that fight has now changed drastically.

When Thompson went down with an injury, Matt Riddle stepped up to replace Thompson (via ESPN). Riddle is fresh off a drug suspension—which ended last month—as he tested positive for marijuana, which came after a Submission of the Night victory over Chris Clements at UFC 149.

But now, Besam Yousef has gone down, and John Maguire has stepped up to replace him. Maguire comes into the fight off a unanimous-decision loss to John Hathaway at UFC on Fuel TV: Struve vs. Miocic. Prior to that loss, Maguire was on a seven-fight winning streak.

Maguire is always looking for the submission when he fights, as he has won 10 of 18 fights with submissions, while never being caught in one in his career.

On the other side of that, Matt Riddle has no submissions on his record, be them wins or losses. He did have the submission win over Clements, but that was taken away when the fight was overturned to a no-contest.

This fight will likely take place on the Facebook prelims of UFC 154, which goes down on November 17, from the Bell Centre in Montreal.
