Less than a month ago, Jon Jones and Alexander Gustafsson engaged in one of the most memorable bouts in UFC history at UFC 165 in Toronto.
While cliched terms are thrown around with frequency to describe memorable scuffles in mixed marital arts, there is no denying the light heavyweight clash between the pound-for-pound great and the Swedish striker was an “instant classic.”
Both men put it all on the proverbial line throughout the five-round affair, with the pound-for-pound great edging out the Swedish striker on the judge’s scorecards to retain his title. While the decision was, and has, been debated throughout the MMA universe, tilts with that caliber of intensity and fortitude burn themselves in the minds of a fan base forever.
Fortunately for the fighting faithful, reliving their championship clash will come in quick fashion as Fox Sports 1 announced they will be re-airing the pay-per-view portion of the card in its entirety Thursday night on UFC Reloaded. The three-hour program is set to air at 8/5p E/T and will replay the main card action that went down on Sept. 21 at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto.
In addition to the light heavyweight title bout, the card featured an interim bantamweight title clash between Renan Barao and Eddie Wineland, as well as impressive performances from heavyweight Brendan Schaub and surging lightweight prospect Khabib Nurmagomedov.
