With the dominance of certain fighters in the Ultimate Fighting Championship promotion such as Anderson Silva, Georges St-Pierre, Jon Jones and featherweight champ Jose Aldo (20-1), “Super Fights” are always on the minds of fight fans everywhere.

One in particular that has come up, especially after last weekends UFC 136 title defenses by Aldo and lightweight champ Frankie Edgar, is getting them both into the Octagon against one another. It’s something UFC President Dana White would like to see whether it be Aldo moving up to 155 lbs, or Edgar moving down to 145 lbs.

For the featherweight champ, Aldo feels that moving up in weight isn’t an option as he has plenty to do at featherweight, but would be more than willing to fight Edgar IF he dropped down to 145 lbs.

Speaking to Tatame.com, this is what Aldo had to say about a possible “Super Fight” with Edgar:

On the press conference after the fight, Dana White said he wants to see Frankie Edgar, lightweight champion, dropping to the featherweight and fighting you. How would it be Aldo vs. Edgar?
Man, I think it’s great. Frankie is the lightweight champion, so, if he moves down, no problem. Just like Kenny did and others are doing… To me it’s ok. I’ll always fight the guys they point out for me to fight.

Do you consider going the other way around, moving up, or this thing about you having difficulties to cut weight is bullshit?
Move up is bullshit. If someone’s deciding it someday, it’s Pederneiras.
