Joseph Duffy will step inside the Octagon against Brazilian veteran Ivan Jorge at UFC Fight Night 72 in Glasgow. Sources confirmed the match-up to MMAFighting.com following a report from Combate.
Duffy (13-1) impressed in his UFC debut in March, finishing Jake Lindsey in less than two minutes at UFC 185. The Irish lightweight has only gone the distance once in his 14-fight MMA career.
Jorge (26-4) returned to action after one year sidelined with injuries and defeated Josh Shockley via decision. “Batman”, a former Jungle Fight lightweight champion, is 2-1 in the UFC with his other win being a decision over Keith Wisniewski.
Duffy vs. Jorge is the first fight booked for UFC Fight Night 72. The event will take place at the 13,000-seat SSE Hydro Arena.
