Heavyweight Alistair Overeem gives his post fight interview after winning the FieLDS K-1 World Grand Prix 2010 Final in Tokyo, Japan last Saturday night.
The Strikeforce heavyweight champ is very proud of his accomplishment as he’s the first MMA champion to win the K-1 WGP tournament.
“I am very proud. It’s never happened before that an MMA champion became K-1 champ. So I’m very proud that I’m world champion in two different kinds of sports.”
Overeem defeated Tyrone Spong, Gokhan Saki and Peter Aerts to earn the K-1 title.
The Dutch fighter is hoping to participate at the upcoming New Year Eve’s “Dynamite!! 2010″ event and expects to fight for DREAM heavyweight title if given the chance.
As for his Strikeforce title, Overeem feels he’ll defend that title sometime between April and June of the coming year.
