Kron Gracie scores quick submission in MMA debut

After months of training with Nick Diaz, Gilbert Melendez and Nate Diaz, jiu-jitsu wizard Kron Gracie finally made his MMA debut.

Son of legendary fighter Rickson Gracie, the multiple time jiu-jitsu and grappling champion fought for the first time under MMA rules at Tuesday’s Real Fight Championship 1 in Tokyo, Japan, against fellow MMA newcomer Hyung Soo-Kim, and scored a 65-second armbar after pulling guard.

Also on the card, Roberto “Satoshi” de Souza, who recently battled to a draw with Jake Shields at Metamoris 5, improved to 2-0 in MMA with a rear-naked choke against Doo Jae Jeong. Satoshi’s older brother Marcos Souza was also victorious at Real Fight Championship, tapping Kenta Takagi with an armbar.

Longtime MMA veteran, and former UFC and PRIDE fighter, Daiju Takase also competed in the event, suffering a first-round knockout loss to Carlos Toyota.
