Alexander GustafssonA light-heavyweight matchup between Swedish fighter Alexander Gustafsson (10-1) and New Zealander James Te-Huna (12-4) has been slotted for the upcoming February UFC 127 event.

The news was reported by FightersOnlyMagazine.co.uk, who received the news from sources close to the bout with no word on where the match will end up on the card. Likely, the bout will be cast for the preliminary card of the event.

Gustafsson is 2-1 with the UFC, coming off a big win over Cyrille Diabaté at UFC 120 after he used a rear-naked choke to submit the French kick-boxer in the second round. That win erased a first round submission loss to Phil Davis earlier that year at UFC 112 in Abu Dhabi. His UFC debut was at UFC 105 against Jared Hamman last November, a bout Gustafsson won by knock-out in the first round.

Te-Huna, the first “Kiwi” to earn a contract with the UFC, has won his last six fights including his UFC debut against Igor Pokrajac by TKO at UFC 110 in the promotions first visit to Australia. Te-Huna has never fought outside of Australia and fought only once last year. He has seven wins by knockout, three by decision and two by decision.

UFC 127 is expected to take place on February 27th at Acer Arena in Sydney, Australia.
