Lightweights Nik Lentz vs. Waylon Lowe Booked For UFN 24

MMADieHards.com was the first to report the matchup on Thursday and has since been confirmed by several other mma news sites. Although not officially announced yet for the March 26 event, the bout is expected to take place on the unaired preliminary card.

Lentz is undefeated in 13 bouts, amassing a 11-0-2 record since September 2007, going 4-0-1 in the UFC. His last fight was a controversial split decision win against Tyson Griffin at UFC 123. It was Tyson’s third straight UFC loss but promotion President Dana White felt strongly against the judges decision and promised the fighter another chance.

Before that win over Griffin, Lentz also earned unanimous decisions against Andre Winner at UFC 118, Rob Emerson at UFN 21, and Rafaello Oliveira at UFC 103. He earned a majority draw against Thiago Tavares at UFN 20 just over a year ago.

Meanwhile his opponent Lowe, carries a two fight win streak and a record of 8-1 in his last nine bouts. He’s 2-1 in the UFC having earned a unanimous decision against Willamy Freire at last months Fight for the Troops event. His first UFC win was against Steve Lopez at UFN 119 earning a split decision at the September event, and lost his promotional debut to Melvin Guillard at UFN 114.

UFC Fight Night: Ortiz vs. Norgueira is scheduled to take place on March 26 at the Key Arena in the promotions first visit to Seattle, Washington. The event is headlined by a light heavyweight bout between Tito Ortiz vs. Antônio Rogério Nogueira, with the main card airing on live television.
