“Fight Night” bonuses of $65,000 were handed out to UFC on Versus 5 main card fighters Chris ‘Lights Out’ Lytle, Dan ‘The Outlaw’ Hardy, and Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone on Sunday, August 14.
Announcements for the “Fight Night” bonuses were made at the post-fight press conference for the Versus event, which went down at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Lytle earned $130,000 in bonus money earning both the “Submission of the Night” and “Fight of the Night” for his third round submission win over Hardy. ‘Lights Out’ also walks away with a 2011 Harley-Davidson Blackline edition motorbike as part of his winnings. The two bonuses make it a total of ten “Fight Night” awards over his career for the retiring fighter.
Hardy, of course, earns an extra $65,000 and despite his fourth straight Octagon loss, will keep his job with the UFC after CEO Lorenzo Fertitta Tweeted a message shortly after the fight that he would not be cutting ‘The Outlaw’.
Cerrone earned his first “Knockout of the Night” bonus after stopping highly touted lightweight, Charles Oliveira, by TKO in the first round of their fight. That makes two “Fight Night” bonuses for the ‘Cowboy’ in three UFC appearances, and it makes it seven bonuses in total fighting under Zuffa. The win was Cerrone’s fifth straight victory.
