Top 10 UFC middleweight Mark Munoz apparently took his loss to upcoming divisional title challenger Chris Weidman pretty hard.
After suffering a brutal second-round knockout at the July event, “The Filipino Wrecking Machine” had to also deal with a broken foot he suffered during the fight.
The bitter taste of the defeat, where a win would’ve likely given him a title shot, accompanied with rehab for his injury led the California native to get lax on his diet in lieu of training.
There r a lot asking, “how long it took for me 2go from 261 to 199.” Took 5 months of #desire#direction#discipline#diligence#dedication

On his official website, Munoz showed before and after pictures detailing how hard he worked to get into shape for UFC 162 next week.
Here’s one example here:
Munoz looks to get back to his winning ways at the MGM Grand Garden Arena when he takes on Tim Boetsch.
According to the UFC’s official middleweight rankings, Munoz is the No. 8 fighter in the world, while “The Barbarian” comes in at No. 10.
A former light heavyweight competitor, Munoz boasts a solid 7-2 record at 185-pounds, losing only to Weidman and perennial contender/former title challenger Yushin Okami.
Prior to coming up short against Weidman, Munoz had won four bouts in a row.
Boetsch also looks to re-enter the title conversation, having most recently lost to Constantinos Philippou at UFC 155 in December.
The setback snapped a four-fight win streak for Boetsch, who also used to fight at 205-pounds.
Will Munoz’s hard work pay off or will The Barbarian be too much for the former Division I All-American wrestler to handle?
