Coming off of arguably the biggest win of last night’s (Saturday December 17, 2017) UFC on FOX 22 event form Sacramento, ‘The Karate Hottie’ Michelle Waterson is ready to take the next step in her UFC career.

Waterson was able to put away No. 7-ranked opponent Paige VanZant with an early first round submission win, after getting the fight to the ground and locking in a rear-naked choke that forced the Team Alpha Male product to tap. During her post-fight press conference interview, courtesy of FOX Sports, Waterson says she’s ready to jump into the Octagon with a top five contender at 115 pounds:

“I would like to get back in there soon,” Waterson said. “I was ready for a five-round war. I’m glad I got the submission in the first round but whatever the UFC has in store for me.

“I’d like to fight maybe a top-five contender. I do want to fight. I don’t know who I want to fight.”

When asked for a specific name, Waterson doesn’t have anyone in particular in mind that she’d like to throw down with next, but is focused on one day accomplishing her goal of becoming a UFC champion.
“I don’t have any name in mind but my ultimate goal is to be UFC champ,” Waterson said.
Now on a two-fight win streak, the former Invicta FC atomweight champion is ready to prove that she belongs in the conversation when it comes to the elite of the female strawweight division. Who do you think ‘The Karate Hottie’ will throw down with next?
