UFC female bantamweight champion Miesha Tate has made history in the past.

Now, Tate is excited to once again be part of an incredible event when she defends her belt against Amanda Nunes at UFC 200 on Saturday night.

Tate, a former Strikeforce champion, was involved in a huge event with that promotion when she defended her belt against Ronda Rousey.

“This is a groundbreaking card. For women’s MMA to have such a strong presence is amazing,” she said, during a recent appearance on UFC Tonight. “This is a great opportunity for me to fiercely defend what is mine.”

For Tate, this is her first title defense after securing the belt with a fifth round submission win over Holly Holm earlier this year.

“I’m defending what’s mine. I want to beat everyone,” she said. “The first is Amanda. She’s hungry. She’s a passionate Brazilian fighter. I know what it takes to beat her.”
