As the UFC turns the page into the new year, its pool of talented fighters continues to expand to keep pace with the sport’s growing popularity.

Though veterans of mixed martial arts continue to hold serious stake on Dana White’s roster, younger fighters are also starting to make a lot of noise, unseating some of the household names fight fans have grown to respect.

With current champions Jon Jones and Jose Aldo as their models for success, the new generation is churning out title contenders across all weight classes. 

Some of these up-and-comers have enjoyed meteoric rises in their blossoming careers, while others have already suffered setbacks on their path to prominence.  

After breaking down the UFC’s collection of emerging warriors, there are seven men that I believe are destined for success in 2012.
